Meet Paula
It is an honour to have been re-elected as your Labour Member of Parliament for Liverpool Wavertree.
Prior to becoming your MP for Liverpool Wavertree, I am proud to say that I worked in local government and public services for the best part of 30 years. All of this has been within the Liverpool City Region.
In addition to my day job in local government, I spent twenty years representing my colleagues as a trade union official, a position I was honoured to hold, eventually becoming the most senior lay representative for Unison in the North-West as its Regional Convenor.
After over a century as a constituency, I am the first and only Liverpool Wavertree MP to represent this constituency while also being born here. I am proud to say that due to Parliamentary boundary changes I am now the first MP of the newly constituted Liverpool Wavertree constituency.
Since 2019, I am proud to say this is the place I have worked hard for, to make sure your voice is heard in Westminster.
I have fought for improved school places and SEND provision in Wavertree and across our city, I have fought for a bolstered social care system and for the rights of social workers, I have fought to put an end to homelessness, and the causes of homelessness, and to hold the private rented sector to account, and I have fought for the rights of workers across every sector, amongst many other priorities.
And you have my solemn promise that I will never stop fighting to deliver for you and for our community.
