New Year Message from Paula

Happy New Year to everybody across Liverpool Wavertree
I hope everybody across all the communities of Liverpool Wavertree had a restful festive period and a wonderful New Year. This was the first festive period in a few years where the pandemic was not front and centre of national life and for many, it would have presented a much overdue opportunity spend time with loved ones, family, and friends.
For those of us involved in politics, 2022 was a whirlwind year. The human experience at the heart of the cost-of-living crisis is causing great pain and anxiety for so many individuals and families across south Liverpool and the wider city region. Politics, especially in times like these, must remain relevant to the lives of the people we serve. All too often, that has not been the case in the past 12 months.
On a local level, I am proud of the work undertaken by myself and my team in serving constituents. Due to pandemic restrictions falling away in 2022, I was able to attend a record number of engagements across the constituency. Along with my team, I held regular surgeries, a handful of supermarket meet-your-MP stalls and hosted several cost-of-living drop ins alongside some fantastic partners. My team and I will be doing more of the same in 2023, particularly in support of local people during this cost-of-living crisis.
I will work tirelessly to afford any local person or family the help they need and deserve. As ever, please do reach out if you require any support whatsoever. I hope that 2023 brings you peace and happiness during these difficult times. I hope you should never have need to contact me but rest assured, whether you do or don’t, I am working for Wavertree all year around inside and outside of Parliament.

Best wishes,

Paula
